Accounting & Bookkeeping Associates (“we,” “us”) is a family-owned accounting, bookkeeping, tax and payroll firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you give us as a client is covered separately, as described below.
Information you give us
We collect information only when you choose to send it to us:
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write.
- Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address.
- Email and phone: whatever you choose to include when you email or call us.
Please don’t send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or tax documents through the contact form or by regular email. If you’re a client, use our secure client portal instead, or call us and we’ll tell you the safest way to get documents to us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server and hosting provider record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use it to keep the site running, secure and free of spam.
We use Cloudflare to deliver and protect this website, and Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising trackers or sell advertising on this site.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. If you log in to the client portal, that service may set the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.
Third-party services on this site
Some features are provided by other companies. When you use them, those companies receive information such as your IP address and are responsible for it under their own privacy policies:
- Google Maps shows our office location on the website. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Our client portal is a separate, secure service for exchanging documents with our team. Information you upload there is governed by the portal provider’s terms and by our client privacy practices described below.
- Links to other websites, such as the IRS, the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department and other agencies in our Resource Library, open sites we don’t control. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
How we use your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our office (for example, our website host and email provider), when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
If you become a client
Tax returns, financial records and other information you give us as a client are confidential. Federal law, including the rules that govern tax return information and financial privacy, limits how we may use and share it. We describe those practices in the privacy notice we give clients when we begin working together, and we’re happy to send you a copy at any time.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your name and email address only to send it. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us.
How long we keep information
We keep website messages and newsletter sign-ups for as long as we need them to respond to you, to send the newsletter you asked for, or to meet our record-keeping obligations. After that we delete them.
How we protect information
This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to the information you send us to the people on our team who need it. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your information seriously.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have from your use of this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this site.
